Cytology is a branch of biology dealing with the structure, function, multiplication, pathology, and life history of cells. Using video microscopy and special stains Windsor Animal Clinic is able to analyze samples in house.
The samples can include such things as urine,blood,body organs, chest fluids,abdominal fluids,spinal fluids,masses,skin,ears,eyes and stool samples. The samples can be sometimes collected with a needle or a needle guided by ultrasound. Diagnoses such as infections, inflammation, cancer, autoimmune disease,parasites, to name a few, can be determined. Of course there are additional uses for this technology.
